PIKESVILLE, Md. (AP) - A Maryland rabbi has been fired from a private Jewish school following a publication’s report of sexual abuse allegations.

The Baltimore Sun reports Beth Tfloh Dahan Community School fired Rabbi Shmuel Krawatsky following an article by The New York Jewish Week, describing allegations that Krawatsky had abused three boys at a Frederick County camp. The Baltimore newspaper cited a statement posted to the school’s website.

The school’s director of education, Zipora Schorr, says the school fired Krawatsky upon learning of the scope of the allegations.

Frederick County Sheriff’s Office spokesman Tim Clarke says the agency opened three separate investigations, which were closed without bringing criminal charges.

Krawatsky’s attorney, Chris Rolle, says the rabbi denies the allegations and passed a polygraph test administered by the sheriff’s office.

Krawatsky has also resigned his post at a Pikesville synagogue.
