GAFFNEY, S.C. (AP) - A coroner says the deaths of a South Carolina couple appear to be a murder-suicide.
Cherokee County Coroner Dennis Fowler said in a news release that the victims were 38-year-old Wallace Lee Hollis and 39-year-old Tina Elease Makeupson, both of Gaffney.
Fowler said Hollis was found unresponsive in a car outside a Gaffney company Monday afternoon. Fowler said Hollis never clocked in for work.
Officers who went to Hollis’ home found Makeupson unresponsive on a bathroom floor.
Both were pronounced dead at the scene.
Fowler said it appears Hollis killed himself after attacking Makeupson. The coroner said the couple had a history of domestic violence.
Autopsies were planned Tuesday.
