NEWPORT, R.I. (AP) - Jazz saxophonist Charles Lloyd, singer-songwriter Andra Day and the band Living Colour are among the performers set to appear during this year’s Newport Jazz Festival .

Lloyd will be artist-in-residence at the festival, scheduled to take place from Aug. 3 to Aug. 5 at Newport’s Fort Adams State Park. Lloyd will be celebrating his 80th birthday and plans to perform each day with a different band. Among those expected to join him are the singer Lucinda Williams.

Also on this year’s lineup are vocalist Cécile McLorin Salvant, as well as pianist Renee Rosnes and band leader Anat Cohen.

The festival says it will announce additional performers in the coming days.

This year marks the 64th anniversary of the beginning of the outdoor festival.
