SHREVEPORT, La. (AP) - Louisiana investigators are looking for a hit-and-run driver in the death of a bicyclist wearing pajama pants.

Caddo Parish Sheriff’s spokeswoman Cindy Chadwick says fingerprints identified the victim as 49-year-old Christopher Sheldon of Shreveport.

His body was found about 3:45 a.m. Monday, face-down and partly atop his bicycle, just south of Shreveport. Chadwick said he was wearing red pajama pants, a camouflage shirt and brown work boots.

Chadwick said in an email Wednesday that investigators don’t know why he was riding a bicycle at that hour, or why he was wearing pajama pants.

Sgt. Mike Vaitkus said in a news release Monday that evidence found that afternoon indicated Sheldon was the victim of a hit-and-run accident.

The sheriff’s office asked anyone with information about the case to call.
