BUFFALO, N.Y. (AP) - A western New York man has pleaded guilty to vehicular manslaughter in a hit-and-run accident that killed an 18-year-old bicyclist.

The Erie County District Attorney’s Office says 37-year-old Paul Hintermeier of Cheektowaga was driving drunk when he ran a stop sign and struck a bicyclist in August. The bike rider, Damien Garra of Cheektowaga, later died.

Hintermeier pleaded guilty Thursday to vehicular manslaughter and leaving the scene of a fatal accident.

Sentencing is scheduled for March 6. Hintermeier faces up to 11 years in prison.
