SYDNEY (AP) - Brazil’s Bobo scored twice, lifting his tally to 18 goals in as many matches, as Sydney FC rallied to beat the 10-man Melbourne Victory 3-1 and move nine points clear of Newcastle atop the A-League.

The lead lasted only two minutes before Bobo equalized, heading home Luke Wilkshire’s looping cross. Bobo scored from the spot after being the target of an awkward challenge by Jason Geria which earned the full back a second yellow card. He then laid off to Josh Carney, who extended Sydney’s lead six minutes later.
Newcastle twice gave away leads before drawing with third-placed Melbourne City 2-2. City equalized in the 82nd minute through Dario Vidosic.
Adelaide’s 1-0 away win over Wellington kept it in fifth place but only a point behind the Victory.
