Washington assigned forward Chris McCullough to the Wisconsin Herd of the G-League on Wednesday and waived forward Mike Young, who was on a two-way contract.

McCullough was acquired as part of the trade that brought Bojan Bogdanovic from Brooklyn late last season in a move to acquire Bogdanovic for the playoffs. The trade also allowed the Wizards to get out from under Andrew Nicholson’s contract, though they had to include their 2017 first-round pick to do so.

McCullough averaged just 3.0 points and 1.7 rebounds in extremely limited playing time with the Wizards this season. McCullough is intriguing because of his age, 22, and frame, 6-foot-11, 200 pounds. But, he has no specific skill and his future with the team is murky. They declined to pick-up the third-year option of his rookie deal, which will make him an unrestricted free agent in the summer.

The Wizards’ roster has just 13 players. They have carried an empty roster spot since waiving Carrick Felix Nov. 2.
