D.C. United announced July 14 will be the night of Audi Field’s debut after the team released its entire 34-game MLS 2018 season schedule on Thursday.
United will face the Vancouver Whitecaps on July 14 in the opening game for its new 20,000 seat stadium in Southwest D.C.. The game is set to kick off at 7 p.m.
The 2018 campaign will begin in Orlando on March 3 with the United facing off with Orlando City SC at 7:30 p.m. United will play two of its first 14 games on the road as Audi Field receives its final touch-ups.
The locations and start times for the season’s first two home games — March 17 versus the Houston Dynamo and April 14 against the Columbus Crew — are yet to be determined.
United is coming off a disappointing 2017 MLS season, its final one at RFK Stadium, in which it finished 9-5-20. United missed the MLS Cup Playoffs for the first time since 2013.
