BALTIMORE (AP) - Lab tests have determined that 29 pounds (13 kilograms) of substances seized from a Baltimore corner store are not illicit drugs.
The Baltimore Sun reports 49-year-old Ahmed Alraohani and 22-year-old Sharif Shaibi were ordered released Wednesday, with prosecutors dropping all charges related to the Dec. 5 raid of Charles Village Discount Mart. Police acting on a tip initially believed they had recovered 16 pounds (7 kilograms) of fentanyl and 13 pounds (6 kilograms) of morphine.
Baltimore State’s Attorney Marilyn J. Mosby’s office confirmed the recovered substances were not “controlled dangerous substances,” but didn’t elaborate. Police say they would provide more information Thursday.

Alraohani and Shaibi’s lawyers, Alex Leikus and John Hammann, say their clients, who were arrested during the raid, did not have criminal records and should have been released on bail while awaiting lab results.
