Police investigate body found in drainage tunnel as homicide

LAS VEGAS (AP) - Authorities have opened a homicide investigation into the body found on New Year’s Day in a drainage tunnel in Las Vegas.

KXNT-AM reports the body was found Monday under a blanket and did not originally appear to be suspicious. But an autopsy conducted by the Clark County Coroner’s Office determined the victim suffered several broken bones, a head injury and internal bleeding.

The victim’s name was not immediately released.
