SAN MARCOS, Texas (AP) - Alex Peacock’s lay-in off an offensive rebound with four seconds to play lifted Texas State to a 57-56 win against Troy on Saturday.

After Troy called timeout, B.J. Miller drove a wide-open lane but missed his layup at the buzzer.

Peacock, who finished with nine points, gathered in the offensive rebound off a missed 3-pointer by Nijal Pearson, who scored 13 points but was 5-of-17 shooting. Immanuel King scored 12 for Texas State (10-7, 3-1 Sun Belt).

Peacock’s basket was the first field goal for the Bobcats since Eric Terry’s layup with 5:21 left gave them a 55-49 lead. For its part, Troy got four free throws from Alex Hicks and a pair of free throws from Miller with 22 seconds to go for a 56-55 lead.

Jordon Varnado scored 17 points, Wesley Person scored 12 and Hicks grabbed 11 rebounds and scored 10 for Troy (7-10, 1-3).
