AZL Rangers started the scoring with a big second inning, when it exploded for five runs, including a two-run triple by Cardona.
The AZL Rangers later added three runs in the sixth and two in the ninth to finish off the blowout.
Ricky Vanasco (1-2) got the win with four innings of scoreless relief while AZL Padres 1 starter Frank Lopez (0-2) took the loss in the Arizona League game.
