PEORIA, Ariz. (AP) — Cesar Izturis Jr. hit a walk-off two-run single with two outs in the ninth inning, as the AZL Mariners defeated the AZL White Sox 2-1 on Wednesday.
AZL Mariners starter Elias Espino allowed one run and four hits over six innings. He also struck out three and walked one. Nolan Hoffman (1-0) got the win with a scoreless inning in relief while Austin Conway (2-1) took the loss in the Arizona League game.
Beau Branton singled three times, also stealing a base in the win.
