OGDEN, Utah (AP) — Drew Avans hit a run-scoring fielder’s choice in the third inning, leading the Ogden Raptors to an 11-4 win over the Missoula Osprey on Tuesday.
The fielder’s choice started the scoring in a six-run inning and gave the Raptors a 1-0 lead. Later in the inning, Ogden scored on three more plays, including a three-run home run by Dillon Paulson.
The Raptors later added two runs in the fifth, one in the sixth, and two in the eighth to put the game away.
Connor Mitchell (2-0) got the win in relief while Missoula starter Deyni Olivero (0-2) took the loss in the Pioneer League game.
For the Osprey, Eddie Hernandez doubled and singled twice. Buddy Kennedy homered and singled.
