BOSTON (AP) - A child pornography suspect on the Massachusetts State Police’s most wanted list who’s been on the lam for nearly three years has been captured.

Police say 47-year-old Stephen Cote was apprehended Thursday as he got out of a car in the parking lot of an apartment complex in Lakewood, New Jersey.

Cote, who has ties to Northampton, was wanted on a federal charge of receipt of material involving sexual exploitation of minors. An arrest warrant was issued in November 2015 after investigators developed evidence that he possessed child pornography, but Cote vanished.

He will be held until he is arraigned in federal court at a future date. It could not immediately be determined if he has a lawyer.
