WARWICK, R.I. (AP) - Rhode Island utility company National Grid says a car crash knocked out power to thousands of homes and businesses in Warwick.
A National Grid spokesman tells WJAR-TV the crash happened in West Warwick Tuesday.
About 2,400 customers lost power, and WPRI-TV reports several schools were dismissed an hour early as a result.
It is unclear what led to the crash, or if there were any injuries reported.
