GRANBY, Colo. (AP) - A construction worker died in a trench collapse at a condominium project at the base of the Granby Ranch ski resort in north-central Colorado.
Police in Granby tell the Summit Daily News another worker had stepped away for a few minutes Thursday morning and when he returned the trench had collapsed and his co-worker was buried.
Emergency crews began digging the man out at around 10 a.m. and recovered him at 10:17 a.m. Efforts to resuscitate him were unsuccessful.
The Occupational Safety and Health Administration is investigating the death.
The man’s name hasn’t been released.
