BRENTWOOD, N.Y. (AP) - A Long Island man has been struck and killed by a vehicle while crossing a street in the early morning.
Suffolk County police say 44-year-old Jorge Flores was hit by a 2006 Saturn SUV around 1 a.m. Saturday on Suffolk Avenue in Brentwood.
The driver, 49-year-old Pedro Rivera, was not injured. His vehicle was impounded for a safety check.
Police say both men lived in Brentwood.
