ATLANTA (AP) - In just six hours, three metro Atlanta police officers were involved in shootings.
The Atlanta-Journal Constitution reports two of Tuesday’s shootings were fatal. The first occurred around 4:45 p.m. when an officer attempted to stop a car believed to be stolen. Authorities say the driver aimed the car at the officer who then shot him. The driver is in critical condition at a hospital.
The second shooting happened at 10 p.m. following an hour-long standoff with police. Authorities say the man was holding a woman against her will and was killed after opening fire on police.
The third shooting occurred when officers responded to a domestic disturbance. Authorities say a man displayed a gun and was fatally shot in his home.
The Georgia Bureau of Investigation was investigating the shootings.
