LAS VEGAS (AP) - An election recount shows state Sen. Tick Segerblom is still the winner of a Democratic primary race for the Clark County Commission.

Clark County officials announced Tuesday that Segerblom picked up two more votes in the recount, boosting his victory of labor union official Marco Hernandez by 183 votes.

Hernandez requested the recount.

Segerblom told the Las Vegas Review-Journal that he was happy to see his win from the June 12 primary confirmed but the slim margin means he’ll have to campaign hard in the general election for a seat currently held by term-limited commissioner Chris Giunchigliani.

Segerblom will face Republican Trish Marsh in November.

Hernandez says he’s not disappointed because he’s pleased that nearly 6,000 people came out to vote for him.
