FLORENCE, S.C. (AP) - State Rep. Robert Williams has won the Democratic nomination in South Carolina’s 7th Congressional District.

Williams defeated and government teacher Mal Hyman of Hartsville in unofficial results Tuesday.

It is Williams‘ second win of the primary season. He also is the Democratic nominee as he seeks a seventh term for his state House seat in Darlington County. He says he will run for both offices.

Williams will face Republican U.S. Rep. Tom Rice and Libertarian Dick Withington in November in the district which includes the area from Florence to Myrtle Beach.

Rice has won every race since the district was created in 2012.
