MISSOULA, Mont. (AP) - The Missoula County sheriff’s office is investigating a lead in the March death of a woman who was found in the road with fatal injuries.
The Missoulian reports a man contacted detectives in April and said his roommate had come home in early March with bloody clothes in a bag and that she re-painted and washed out the inside of her sport utility vehicle before getting rid of it.
Deputies located the Ford Bronco in Arlee and obtained a search warrant to collect evidence that “might be connected to the crime of homicide.”
Officers are investigating the death of 45-year-old Susan Wood who was found in the road north of Missoula with a serious head wound on March 3. She died on March 16 without regaining consciousness.
