JACKSON, Miss. (AP) - The Mississippi Senate voted 27-21 Thursday to send House Bill 957 back to a committee. The procedural move killed the bill that would have replaced the state’s current public school funding formula with a new method. A yes vote was to kill the bill by sending it back to a committee, while a no vote was to keep the bill alive.
