NEW YORK (AP) - A New York City man now faces life in prison on charges related to a botched robbery that left a man dead.

Bryan Panarella pleaded guilty to first-degree manslaughter in January and was sentenced to 15 years to life in prison Monday. The Daily News reports the charges stem from a 2015 robbery that left 26-year-old Gavin Becerra dead from gunshot wounds to the torso and legs.

According to a criminal complaint, Panarella and two accomplices had set out to rob Becerra and his twin Derreck, who was also wounded in the shooting but survived.
