SEEKONK, Mass. (AP) - Police in Massachusetts say a trail of footprints in the snow led them to a man they say tried to break into several cars during Tuesday’s storm.
Seekonk police say the tracks led them to a gas station where they found 21-year-old Michael Maksou, of North Reading. Police observed that his boots resembled the footprints.
The Sun Chronicle reports that Maksou was arrested and charged with breaking and entering.
The investigation was prompted by a woman who noticed footprints near her car and another nearby vehicle. Investigators say both cars were unlocked, and someone had entered them but didn’t take anything.
Maksou told police he had been walking around trying to make a phone call.
