LOS ANGELES (AP) - Los Angeles police have arrested a pair of alleged gang members in the shootings - one fatal - of two men at a homeless encampment.

Officers responding Jan. 21 to reports of gunfire found Daniel Duarte shot to death inside a tent along a flood control channel north of downtown Los Angeles. Another man nearby suffered gunshot wounds.

Authorities announced Tuesday that 19-year-old Andrew Palacios and 31-year-old Jimmy Alfred Perez have been arrested on suspicion of murder and attempted murder. It wasn’t immediately known if the men have attorneys.

Police say the suspects, who are each held on $2 million bail, are affiliated with a street gang.
