BEAR, Del. (AP) - Police in Delaware are investigating a car crash that has killed two 19-year-olds from New Jersey. A 20-year-old man was also rushed to the hospital in critical condition.

The News Journal reported Saturday that the crash occurred on U.S. 13 in the Bear area, which is south of Wilmington. Delaware State Police said the car veered off the road, struck a small rise in the ground and went airborne before hitting a large tree.

The deceased driver and passenger have been identified. The driver was Adrian Velazquez of Kearney, New Jersey. The back-left passenger was Alfahtee Heuy from Hillside New Jersey. A puppy that was in the car also died.

Police said impairment does not appear to be a factor.
