JERSEY CITY, N.J. (AP) - Authorities say a New Jersey couple found shot to death in their home died in an apparent murder-suicide.

Forty-year-old Lydiah Okongo and her 51-year-old husband, Henry, were found around 8:45 a.m. Monday by Jersey City police who were responding to reports of an injured woman. Two young children - a 3-year-old boy and a year-old girl - were also found in the home but were not injured, though the boy was taken to the hospital for an evaluation as a precaution.

Hudson County prosecutors say Lydiah Okongo was shot multiple times in the head and torso. Her body was found on the home’s first floor.
