BUTMAN TOWNSHIP, Mich. (AP) - Authorities say the body of a 65-year-old fisherman has been found in a mid-Michigan lake after a boat was spotted adrift in the water.

The Gladwin County sheriff’s department responded Wednesday after a person reported seeing the boat in Lake Lancer in Butman Township.

Deputies found a pickup truck at a boat ramp that was idling and had been backed down the ramp with a boat trailer attached to it. The Bay City Times reports the body of Roy D. Bruner was recovered by a dive team after several hours of searching.

Investigators believe Bruner was preparing to leave the lake when he fell into the water. An autopsy is planned to determine cause of death.
