CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) - Casino operators in West Virginia say there’s no deal to incorporate an “integrity fee” into the state’s new betting law despite a statement by Gov. Jim Justice.

The Charleston Gazette-Mail reports Justice released a statement Thursday claiming an agreement was reached after a closed-door meeting with stakeholders on Wednesday. John Cavacini is the president of the West Virginia Gaming and Racing Association. He says the meeting ended with casinos standing against the fee. The fee would give the NBA and Major League Baseball 1 percent of the total amount wagered on their games.

Del. Shawn Fluharty, D-Ohio, an advocate for sports betting, says he may seek an injunction to block action resulting from meeting. He says the meeting may have violated the state’s Open Meetings Act.
