COLUMBUS, Miss. (AP) - A northeast Mississippi man has been arrested for a 2015 armed robbery and sexual assault after a DNA match.

The Commercial Dispatch reports 20-year-old Jamory Ross of Columbus was arrested Wednesday after an FBI computer system matched DNA evidence from the scene to DNA taken from Ross after he was accused of another crime.

Ross was denied bail earlier this week and is being held at the Lowndes County jail. It’s unclear if he has a lawyer to speak for him.

Police say Ross broke into a Columbus home in July 2015, sexually assaulted a victim and then burglarized the house.

Ross was also arrested for an armed robbery in November 2015 but court records show he has not been indicted on that charge.
