WOODLAWN, Md. (AP) - A man who police say shot at an officer in Maryland has been charged with attempted murder.

The Baltimore Sun cites a release from Baltimore County police that says 25-year-old Kwaundaylo Deshawn Richardson shot at an officer who was investigating a report of people running through yards Monday night. The officer was not injured.

Richardson is charged with attempted first-degree murder, first-degree assault, second-degree assault and handgun violations. He was banned from possessing a firearm because of a prior felony conviction.

His girlfriend, 20-year-old Moesha E. Washington was arrested later while picking up what police say was Richardson’s handgun. She’s charged with being an accessory and several handgun counts. She was released on her own recognizance Wednesday.

It’s unclear if they have lawyers.
