TUCSON, Ariz. (AP) - Tucson police say their investigation of the 2016 death of a 7-month-old boy who had severe head injuries has resulted in the arrested in the arrest of his mother.
Police say Kimberly Self was arrested Thursday night on suspicion of child abuse after police conducted interviews and reviewed medical records of Victor Self and an older sibling.
According to police, Victor had skull fractures and a brain bleed when he was found unresponsive on December 3, 2016 and he also was underweight and malnourished at the time of his death.
Police say the sibling has been diagnosed as having delayed developmental and other conditions “directly related to neglect and abuse….”
Court records don’t list an attorney who could comment on the allegations.
