SEDONA, Ariz. (AP) - A small wildfire is burning northwest of Sedona, and officials say light winds and sparse vegetation are helping to keep it at bay.

The fire was reported Monday morning and has burned 230 acres so far in the Sycamore Canyon Wilderness, about 14 miles from Sedona.

Prescott National Forest spokesman Debbie Maneely says the fire has been creeping through juniper, pinon and grass.

No structures are threatened. The fire is 25 percent contained and has kept to the west side of the canyon.

Maneely says the fire is human-caused, but investigators haven’t determined the exact origin.

About 100 firefighters are working the blaze.
