CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (AP) - The YMCA of the Cedar Rapids Metropolitan Area has announced it will be participating in the Summer Food Service Program.

The program provides free breakfast and lunch to all eligible children participating in YMCA camps.

To be eligible, children must meet the income guidelines for reduced-price meals in the National School Lunch Program. Children whose households receive food assistance from the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program - previously known as food stamps - and those receiving benefits under the Food Distribution Program on Indian Reservations or Temporary Assistance to Needy Families are automatically eligible for the free meals.

The YMCA will operate a Summer Food Service Program for all children enrolled in the summer Adventure Day Camp and Young Adventurers Programs at the Stoney Point YMCA location.
