STILLWATER, Okla. (AP) - Four people were wounded by gunfire early Sunday at an events center in Stillwater, and police said they have not identified a suspect.
Stillwater Police Capt. Kyle Gibbs said shots were fired about 1:30 a.m. as a party was breaking up at the events center in the Payne County city. Witnesses said the shooter opened fire as partygoers exited the front of the building, he said.
“As they were exiting, someone started shooting into the crowd,” Gibbs said.
One man was shot in the chest and hand and was flown by helicopter to an Oklahoma City hospital for treatment, Gibbs said. Two other victims, one who was shot in the leg and the other in the arm, were treated at a hospital in Stillwater. The fourth was shot in the buttocks and treated at a Norman hospital, he said.
Gibbs did not release the names of the wounded and their conditions were not immediately available.
Investigators have not determined a motive for the shooting and have no suspects, Gibbs said. He said the gunman fled before police arrived.
