BOSTON (AP) - Boston police say the two men killed in a gang-related shooting at a public housing complex last week were both innocent bystanders.
The men killed at the Mildred Hailey Apartments in the city’s Jamaica Plain neighborhood on Friday night were identified Sunday as 23-year-old Christopher Joyce and 58-year-old Clayborn Blair.
Police Commissioner William Evans says the two victims “had nothing to do with gangs.”
Joyce was scheduled to graduate from Salem State University later this month, the school confirmed.
Relatives say Blair was a father of three.
Authorities say both victims were in a group of people who had gathered outside at the complex.
No arrests have been announced. Police are asking witnesses to come forward.
