COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) - One person has died and another person has been hurt in a shooting in central South Carolina.

Richland County Sheriff’s Deputy Katelyn Jasak told local media outlets the shooting was reported around 11:15 p.m. Monday just north of Columbia.

Jasak said deputies found two victims, each with several gunshot wounds. She said one person was pronounced dead at the scene, and the second was taken to Palmetto Health Richland hospital. There was no word on the person’s condition.

The dead person’s name has not been released yet while relatives are notified.

No arrests have been reported.

Deputies have not released a possible motive in the shootings.
