HAVERHILL, Mass. (AP) - Authorities have publicly identified a man who was shot and killed over the weekend in Haverhill.

A spokesman for the Essex district attorney says 40-year-old Jeffrey Larkin, of Haverhill, was shot in the chest at Grand Avenue and Emerson Street at about 11 p.m. Sunday.

The Eagle-Tribune reports that Larkin was taken to Holy Family Hospital and pronounced dead a short time later.

No arrests have been announced.

Larkin’s death was the city’s first homicide of 2018, although there have been several shootings.
