LONGMONT, Colo. (AP) - Investigators say they believe a missing Colorado woman is dead and they have identified a “person of interest” in the case.

The Longmont Daily Times-Call reports Longmont Police Deputy Chief Jeff Satur said at a news conference Monday that “early on in the investigation, this was always on our mind, that this was not going to have a positive outcome.”

Longmont resident Rita Gutierrez-Garcia, a mother of three, was last seen around 2:30 a.m. March 18, walking to a downtown Longmont parking lot after celebrating St. Patrick’s Day with friends and family.

Satur says police have a “person of interest” in the case, but need more information to make an arrest.

Satur says police know where the person of interest is, but will not release more information.
