SOUTHWEST HARBOR, Maine (AP) - Police in Maine say they’ve found a 77-year-old woman who became lost while traveling to a relative’s home.
Authorities say police found Jacka Beckwith driving in Southwest Harbor on Mount Desert Island on Monday. The Litchfield woman had been reported missing earlier that day when she failed to arrive at a relative’s home in Bangor.
State police say Beckwith stopped at a convenience store in Baileyville to ask for directions before police found her. She was taken to an area hospital for a checkup.
Beckwith suffers from a medical condition. Police believe she may have become disoriented while driving.
