BURLINGTON, Vt. (AP) - Weather forecasters are warning Vermont residents living near Lake Champlain to watch for wind-driven flooding.

The Burlington Free Press reports the lake reached its flood stage Sunday, which means it is at 100 ft. above sea level.

National Weather Service meteorologist Andrea LeRocca says the lake will remain at flood stage through Thursday.

The weather service is telling landowners in the area to protect their property, and both the King Street ferry dock and Perkins Pier in Burlington are expected to see some flooding.

Snowmelt and heavy rainfall both contribute to high water levels.
