GREENVILLE, N.C. (AP) - A North Carolina college fraternity has been shut down after an investigation led to arrests on drug charges.

East Carolina University announced Wednesday that Phi Kappa Tau has been closed by its national organization. In April, a raid on the fraternity house led to the seizure of more than 2,500 bars of Xanax and two shotguns. Authorities also said marijuana was being sold from the house. Four students were arrested.

Since May 2017, five fraternities have been closed at ECU. Sigma Phi Epsilon closed last year for multiple incidents. Delta Chi closed indefinitely in January after an investigation revealed hazing and other violations.

Tau Kappa Epsilon also closed its chapter in January for undisclosed reasons. In February, Sigma Alpha Epsilon closed its local chapter for hazing and other policy violations.
