OGDEN, Utah (AP) - A 37-year-old northern Utah man has been sentenced to 30 years to life in prison on multiple child sex abuse charges.

Eric Fell of Roy pleaded guilty in a plea deal in March to one count of sodomy of a child and three counts of aggravated sexual abuse.

The two female victims who were under the age of 16 say the assaults occurred over a 10-year period.

The Standard-Examiner reports they testified along with their mother at Tuesday’s sentencing hearing in district court in Utah.

One said Fell “has taken away our childhood.” The other said, “You tore my family apart.”

Fell told Judge Joseph Bean he knows he destroyed the girls’ lives. He said that, “All I have is I’m sorry.”
