KILN, Miss. (AP) - A Mississippi Gulf Coast man has died in a mobile home fire.

Hancock County Coroner Jim Faulk tells the Sun Herald that the body of a 72-year-old man was found on the steps of his trailer near Kiln after it was destroyed by a fire Friday night.

Faulk says officials believe the man may have fallen while trying to escape the fire.

The coroner says officials believe they know the identity of the man, but are awaiting a DNA test to confirm his identity.

Officials say the roof had collapsed before firefighters arrived. Someone warned that a resident may have been inside, but firefighters were unable to enter the blazing home.
