NEW CASTLE, Del. (AP) - Delaware State Police are investigating a fatal crash involving a pedestrian.

Police said Saturday that a 39-year-old Newark woman was wearing dark clothing and wasn’t carrying a flashlight when she tried to cross a major roadway late Friday in New Castle.

Police said the woman was not at a marked crosswalk when she was hit by a pickup truck. She died before being transported to the Wilmington Hospital.

Authorities have not yet released the woman’s name.
