ANNISTON, Ala. (AP) - An east Alabama city is looking for a new location for city hall.

The city of Anniston is moving out of its current building to make way for a new federal courthouse, so council members have toured proposed locations.

The possible sites include an old bank building and the former Anniston Star newspaper building.

Mayor Jack Draper tells WBMA-TV that officials hope to make a decision by the end of the month.

Congress set aside money in 2016 for building a new federal courthouse in Anniston at a cost of $42 million.

The government expects to award a contract for the design and construction work next month.
