LAS VEGAS (AP) - Police in Las Vegas say they are looking for a man who impersonated a police officer near the Las Vegas Strip.

Lt. William Matchko says the man approached shoppers early Friday and told them he had a gun. He fled the area when people became suspicious.

Matchko says officers later found his vehicle, but the man remains at large.

Police are asking anyone with information to contact their Crime Stoppers program at 702-385-5555.
