PHOENIX (AP) - An arrest warrant has been issued for a 30-year-old Phoenix man who hasn’t been seen since he cut off his electronic monitoring device and didn’t appear for the last day of his trial on child pornography charges.
Prosecutors say Bryant Ozorio now faces at least 100 years in prison after a Maricopa County Superior Court jury on Oct. 23 convicted Ozorio in absentia of 10 felony counts of sexual exploitation of a minor.
County Attorney Bill Montgomery said the current method for determining pretrial releases of defendants should be reviewed because it doesn’t properly consider the risk posed to the community by offenders facing almost certain prison sentences.
Montgomery’s office said computer devices belong to Ozorio had thousands of images and videos of child pornography.
