LANDOVER — The Redskins will need their offense to carry them if they want to get back into this game. The defense isn’t getting the job done.

The Atlanta Falcons lead 21-7 at halftime Sunday over the Redskins at FedEx Field. Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan has 239 yards and two touchdowns and Atlanta is a perfect 8-of-8 on third down.

Washington’s lone touchdown came on an 11-play, 80-yard drive, capped off by a one-yard pass to receiver Josh Doctson.

Redskins quarterback Alex Smith is 12-for-18 for 119 yards. Adrian Peterson has been kept in check, rushing for just 15 yards on six carries.
